All public swimming places (pools, spas, lagoons waterslides and lakes) are inspected for possible health and safety threats, potential drowning hazards and unsafe chemical levels.

What We Do

  • Inspect public swimming pools, spas, waterslides, lakes and lagoons for possible health/safety hazards
  • Investigate complaints of health or safety hazards
  • Train pool owners, managers and maintenance staff
  • Review plans and inspect construction of commercial pools, spas, waterslides and lagoons

Preventing Unintended Chemical Injection

San Bernardino County is home to many public water contact recreation resorts (WCRR). WCRR include water theme parks, swim or wave lagoons, natural or man-made lakes, and water courses.

  • Inspect WCRR for possible health and safety concerns
  • Investigate waterborne illnesses
  • Review weekly fecal coliform testing results
  • Review annual engineering reports for access devices (diving boards, slides, water flumes, ropes, cargo nets, and swings)
  • Ensure proper installation of access devices for safety and compliance
  • Protect the health and safety of all swim patrons at WCRR
